Why We Got Involved
The Blue Dog Foundation Stands With Local Families
The Blue Dog Foundation exists to support first responders, veterans, and their families through advocacy, education, connection, storytelling, and wellbeing initiatives.
This campaign is particularly important to us because it has been championed by a local family of first responders whose child is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Like many families in our region, they face regular travel away from home to access specialist care.
While our mission remains focused on supporting first responders, veterans, and their families, we also recognise the broader impact this issue has across our entire community — from inner Canberra to Goulburn, Cooma and beyond.
No family should have to leave their support network behind while navigating a child's cancer diagnosis.
We are proud to stand alongside local families, healthcare advocates, and community partners in support of a dedicated Children's Oncology and Haematology Service in Canberra.
Because supporting families means supporting the communities they call home.
